Fraud and Dispute Charges

If you notice unauthorized charges on your card, you can temporarily lock your card right in the app. In addition to locking your card, you can also dispute unauthorized charges that have already gone through by following specific steps outlined in the dispute process.

If you suspect unauthorized transactions have already posted to your account, taking immediate steps to dispute those charges is crucial. Qapital facilitates a structured dispute process to help resolve such issues effectively.

On your home screen, tap into your Spend account, then tap "Your Qapital Visa® Debit Card." Here, you'll see the Lock Card toggle. Toggling this on will prevent any charges or withdrawals from your card.

Steps to Dispute Unauthorized or Incorrect Charges

To dispute a charge on your Qapital account, you need to provide the following information:

  1. Details of the Transaction:

    • Date of the transaction.

    • Merchant name.

    • Amount of the charge.

    • Whether the charge is still pending or has been cleared.

    • Explain whether the charge falls under reasons like unrecognized charges, goods not received, or incorrect amounts.

  2. Card Details:

    • Indicate whether the physical card is still in your possession.

    • If you lost the card, mention when you became aware of its loss.

  3. Dispute Request Form:

    • Fill out the Qapital Dispute Request Form.

    • Be sure to sign the form (electronic signatures are acceptable).

    • Select the appropriate reason for your dispute, such as "MERCHANDISE/SERVICES NOT RECEIVED."

Handling Pending Transactions

If you notice a pending transaction that you did not authorize:

  • Monitor the charge to see if it clears. Pending charges might fall off on their own and cannot be disputed until they clear.

  • If the charge does not disappear after 3-5 business days, contact Qapital to initiate a dispute inquiry.
