If you're planning to travel internationally, to help protect your account our partner bank requires a travel notice in order to make purchases on your Qapital Visa® Debit Card during your trip. Please reach out to our support team through the app or via email at [email protected] and let us know your destination, departure date and return date. Then, we’ll ask our partner bank to put a travel notice on your account.
Notifying Qapital of your international travel plans also plays a vital role in fraud prevention. By letting us know your destination(s), departure date, and return date, we can ensure smooth transactions. Additionally, if you will be using your digital card through Apple Pay or Google Pay, including that information helps prepare your card for such usage abroad. This travel notice is required for Lincoln Savings Bank, which partners with Qapital to manage your card's international functionality.
International fees vary depending on the merchant, but they’re usually between 0%-3%.*
These fees are determined by the merchant and may include currency conversion costs or fees specific to international card acceptance policies.
If your card does get locked for some reason, you may be contacted by Visa DPS Falcon® to authorize the charges. This is our third party card processor who handles fraud protection. If you don’t hear from them right away, you can contact Visa DPS Falcon® by phone at 1-844-894-5937. Once you give the okay, your card will be unlocked. For security reasons only the account holder can authorize charges that are flagged as suspicious.
*Qapital does not charge foreign transaction fees on purchases you make abroad with your Qapital Visa® Debit Card, however Visa® and international vendors sometimes do. You may be charged a 1% conversion fee on the transaction amount in US dollars. When you use your Visa debit and credit card outside the United States and the merchant does settle the transaction in US dollars, you will charged a 0.80% International Assessment fee on the transaction amount in US dollars.
