Invest Goals to Portfolios: The Basics

Explanation of the change made to Invest, moving from a Goals structure to a Portfolio view.

The Basics

What happened to Invest Goals?

We’ve evolved Invest Goals into Portfolios to help you focus on what you can control: your strategy, risk level, and contributions. Invest Goals focused on target amounts, but market fluctuations make hitting "target amounts" unpredictable and potentially challenging. Portfolios provide a clearer overview of your actual performance without unnecessarily dividing your money into various Goals.

What changed with the transition from Invest Goals to Portfolios?

Your existing Goals are now grouped by their Portfolio (e.g., Conservative or Aggressive) on your Invest dashboard. You can still contribute to and view existing individual Goals within a shared Portfolio, but going forward will only be able to open one Portfolio per strategy.

Your balance, investment allocations, and automatic deposits remain unchanged. This update is designed to simplify your experience, moving the focus from rigid targets to long-term investment health.

Where are my Invest Goals?

Your existing Goals are now grouped by their Portfolio (e.g., Conservative or Aggressive) on your Invest dashboard. You can still contribute to and view existing individual Goals within a shared Portfolio, but going forward will only be able to open one Portfolio per strategy.

Was my balance affected by this transition?

No. There is no impact to the cash or securities in your Portfolio. If your balance looks different than you expected, please review your statements and trade confirmations in the app or at my.qapital.com. If you still have questions, contact our support team in-app.

Did anything happen to my deposits or automatic rules?

No. Your automatic deposit rules are active and running on the same schedule.

Do I need to do anything?

No action is required. If you'd like to review your Portfolio or make any adjustments, you can do that from the Invest tab in the app.
